Shooting late afternoon shots at a local lake. I noticed a furry little leg sticking out of a birdhouse. I recognized it as a squirrel leg and touched it with my lens hood of my camera lens
It was a family of flying squirrels! Something you don't see a lot of around here. He ran out of the birdhouse and then quickly back in.

Sometimes you just put down the camera and stare. Taking it all in. Hours may pass and you haven't moved. This year I want to do more of that. Live in the moment and not be driven to find that next perfect shot. How many miles I have driven in search of a particular picture and missed so many hidden before me..Not this year...
