Merry Christmas!!
Colquitt County Courthouse, Moultrie Georgia
I hope everyone near and far and all of my friends that pass through here have a wonderful Christmas!! I drove up to our city square and snapped some pics. We have the "turn of the century southern style" city square and they hang lights off the courthouse and blanket the entire town square for the holidays. It was right at freezing tonight and little traffic to get in the way..
Happy Holidays everyone!!

Dear Santa...
I have been a very good truck this year Santa.Never did anything wrong, always wanted to go see what was around the next curve in the road.
I took Rick to all the pretty places I could find, so he could shoot pictures and make people smile...
So I was wondering about this year. I wanna be a big truck, like the other ones I see driving around. Maybe even in a red color, because Rick is such a big Alabama Crimson Tide fan...
"Please Santa," asked the little truck "I really have been good"....I promise!
Santa asked the truck to close it's little headlights real tight and make that wish...
With a twinkle of his eye, Santa gave the little truck what it so greatly desired....
Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus....
ok ok ....so I got a new truck. But I have been good this year...very.... very...... good. ;-)

I have added a new Wayfarer here on Wayfarers Journey. I want to welcome Angie from "Photos for the fun of it". I have known Angie as a friend/contact over at MyBlogLog for sometime. Her avitar of the "smilin pig" always kept me smiling when I would visit. Welcome Angie!

looking back...looking ahead...
It was an awesome road trip to say the least. Colors I never thought I would see, were everywhere. It was really nice to see my hometown area of the state so alive with colors. So what about next year? April of 2009 looks to be the next main road trip. I say this hoping for some snow shots this winter but I wont dedicate a full week for it. The Spring calls for new areas to be explored. Possibly Virginia and northern North Carolina. But for now only time will tell.
Ok...I have a weakness for Wiener dogs. LOL!! This is Bentley. She is one wild Weenie dog. Always on the go I could not get a decent shot of her. She belongs to some best friends of mine. Stopped off at their house while passing through. All Hail, Rabbit Town Alabama!!
My friend and i went for a drive and he showed me this cave. It has been blocked off to keep people out but you still can slide around the bars. I expressed a crazed need to come back up and go exploring. I am sure that every inch of it has been gone through. It was stated that the Indians in the area used it and that the cave was quite extensive.
No, I am not inside the cave, just shined a video light through the bars for a better view..
Back at Kevin's and Deanna's (and Bentley's) house before heading south and towards home. One tired truck and driver.
I hope you have enjoyed this years "Wayfarers Journey." I failed to label most of the photos but I will list the locations here in case you are ever in that part of Alabama.
Anniston, Alabama
Choccolocco, Alabama
Rabbit Town, Alabama
Lake Weiss, ( Leesburg, Alabama)
Centre, Alabama
Ft Payne, Alabama
Pleasant Gap, Alabama
Auburn, Alabama
Dearmanville, Alabama
Piedmont, Alabama
Little River Canyon near (Ft Payne, Alabama)
"Rim Road" (Hwy 176, Cherokee County, Alabama)
and "some places only a few people and I know about". ;-)
