Space Shuttle Discovery..

Beautiful and quiet morning. Waiting for her to appear above the horizon..

Finally she lifts high enough for us here in South Georgia to see her. (approx 250 miles away)

At this point she was off the North Carolina coast (approx 400 miles away) and still accelerating. Lost sight of her right after this pics was taken as she passed below the treeline.

Godspeed Discovery...

Great shots Rick!!!! And I missed it, can you imagine that??? I was still sleeping, couldn't get up that early. I know, I know...shame on me :)

Than suddenly my bed started shaking and the glass in the windows were vibrating...I thought first it's an earthquake, until I realized, that's the Shuttle - I missed HER!!!

well, I'm sure there will be one or two launches more this year....right? :)

I'm living at the river just across Cape Canaveral :)

Nice post, Rick!

The detail is just amazing: You can see every little star like you're standing and looking at it outside. That's a terrific camera you invested in; Great job, Hon !
