on my way...

Made a quick run back to Centre Alabama. Had to get some photos to a a friend and needed an excuse to get away for a couple days..I didn't take many pics as I was scouting some areas to possibly shoot this Fall. Just riding the back roads, relaxing not worried about getting a "perfect shot" and just enjoying the moment going down roads I never have been down before, while in the company of a good friend. Spent the day Wednesday kayaking 8 miles down a creek. Managed to flip my Kayak at least 5 times in the small rapids but the water felt great and I provided humor for everyone! LOL!! We were taken to a drop off point and then carried by current and paddle power down the creek back to the Outfitters base. In some places this creek was over 200 yards across and very deep. I would call that a river. It took us 6 hours to finish the trip. It was an awesome trip and I am very sunburned and sore, but happy.

The Little River Canyon State Park and the falls I have shot many times will not be revisited for some time as I have shot it from every angle I can. This goes for most of that area of the state as well. I need to find some new areas to shoot later this year. Maybe North Carolina? Virginia? Still have several months to ponder and think about where I want to go this Fall. Vacation time will be kicking in so who knows..More pics posted later..

Feelin fine...finally.

Back home and already one EMS shift behind me. Rested today as I am enjoying being able to sleep without fevers and aches. So nice! Posting the pics I took down at Nichols Lake last Thursday. It was the perfect day for just watching the sun set. Everything was quiet and peaceful...

home again....

Hopefully the infection has been killed off. I feel pretty good today, washed out somewhat, but that's to be expected..It is so nice to be back in my own space and sleeping in my own bed tonight. My scheduled trip that was planned for this week is canceled indefinitely. Wont be taking one until late October or early November.

Thank you all for the get well texts and warm wishes!! It brought a smile to my face. I needed it!

say a little prayer...

Been in the hospital since early Friday evening. sitting here tonight listening the hum of an IV pump..Fever finally took me out while at work yesterday. Prostate infection is still the main suspect. I asked the doctor point blank about it being Cancer. He thinks it isn't. I hope he is right. For now they are running the strongest antibiotics available through me. The meds I was taken were not working so this thing has had a weeks jump on me. Maybe will be up and goin before too long....

escape...

Fred is back again this year and says "hello"...Didn't care where I went but had to get out and away...
Nichols Lake...
Back to work....more pics later...;-)

later.....

Not going to be heading out for a week to shoot pics. (Looking at mid May now) My body isn't fully recovered yet and I am starting to worry if it will at all. Been on heavy antibiotics since Monday and still don't feel 100%... This means in another 5 days if I am still like this it's into the hospital for treatment. Aching all over again today but don't feel a fever and that's bearable. This stuff is sucking the life out of me... I am getting out of the house and will drive 10 minutes down to Nichols Lake today. Need some time to think, plan and ponder and be alone.

Happy Easter!! He is risen!!

Been fighting a 24 hour bug of some sort. Started at work and wound up in the ER last night for a little while. Running a high fever and now it decided to break. Sitting here with sweat pouring off of me. Feeling a lot better compared to earlier today. I hope this is the end of it. With that said its' been beautiful weather here in the South. Couldn't ask for a prettier Easter Sunday. Have a road trip planned for the 18th though the 22nd. I will keep my destination a secret for now..;-)

Included one of my most favorite videos. Enjoy!

Air and Water..

My good friend Jennifer was married here at Dick's Creek, just north of Dahlonaga Georgia this past Saturday. It was a lovely wedding. It was an honor to be her videographer. Wishing her and Bill a wonderful and happy marriage!

Covering 950 miles in three days. Needing to get out and away. Found some wonderful places to shoot this Fall. My travels brought me back through the Little river Canyon area. The river was roaring from all the heavy rain we have had here in the south. It made for beautiful pictures. I also spent time over at Desoto Falls in Mintone Alabama, just east of Ft Payne. My first time there and the water was spectacular.

While waiting for some storms to move out of Mississippi to chase in Tuscaloosa Alabama I had the pleasure of having two of the Navy's Blue Angels scream over head while practicing for an upcoming airshow. We were about a mile from the airport and right in their flight path. they would fly by at approximately 400+ mph at about 400ft. It was fun trying to capture them with a 300mm zoom. Click on the pics for a closer look.

sky and water..

This "Blue Angels" shot was taken in a parking lot while they practiced for an upcoming airshow. I was waiting with a group of friends while storm chasing in Tuscaloosa Alabama. He was flying about 300 feet above the ground at 400 mph. All of us were trying to capture images as they screamed past. This was taken with a 300mm zoom. Got lucky...

So as you can see I stepped out for a few days. Tons of pics to go over. Working EMS tomorrow and a full slate for next week. Will get the posted as son as I can. Enjoy the teasers...;-)
